George Boone was an early settler of Fort Boonesborough, and the younger brother of the famous explorer Colonel Daniel Boone. He married Nancy Ann Linville November 28, 1764 in Rowan County, North Carolina. By 1800 the family had migrated to Shelby County, Kentucky.

.....also on tax list for Shelby County that year were Enoch, Isaiah, Jonathan, Josiah, Moses, Squire, William, and William Jr. There were no taxpayers with the Boon spelling in Shelby County that year.
