Thomas H. Betow, 94, Allouez, passed away Monday morning, August 27, 2012 at his home.

The son of the late Richard H. and Martha (Darge) Betow was born in Marion, WI on September 15, 1917. He graduated from Marion High School.

Tom served his country during WW II as a Bombardier for the 8th Army Air Force. He was shot down during his 121st mission over the Bay of Biscay, and was a Prisoner of War for 2 years at Stalag Luft 1.

Tom married the former Virginia Van Den Berg on June 3, 1946 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Green Bay. He worked at one time for the Waupaca Co. Sheriff's Department, Kraft Foods, and was an Executive for Prudential Insurance Co.

Tom was a generous, caring and loving dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who is survived by his children: Steve (Ginny) Betow, Dan (Sharon) Betow, Chris Betow and Andy Betow; grandchildren: Shannon (Chris), Anthony (Rachelle), Christopher, and Nicholas (Lisa); great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Ethan, Simon, Ethan, Liam, and Angelo; sister-in-law. Jo Anne Harvey; and cousins: Lynn and Walt Raebel, and Kurt and La Verne Betow.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, on May 28, 1991; his parents, Richard and Martha; and a brother, Jack Betow.

Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave. De Pere from 4 until 8 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Visitation will continue at Cotter Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30th, from 10 AM until time of service. Funeral service at 11 AM, Thursday, with Pastor Steve Fewell officiating. Entombment with full military honors to follow at Allouez Mausoleum-----------
