| Birth: | unknown | | Death: | Feb. 9, 1864 Vicksburg Warren County Mississippi, USA |  Peter Hearn (also spelled Heirn, Herin, or Hiern) was an American Soldier during the American Civil War of 1861 to 1865.
He enlisted on August 20th, 1863, at New York City, New York, for three years service, at the age of 36, and was mustered into service as a Private in Company B of the 17th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment on August 26th, 1863, at Camp Sprague, Staten Island, New York. He served with the regiment in its campaigns in Kentucky and Tennessee, and had just moved to Mississippi with the command when he became ill.
Private Hearn was taken to the U.S. General Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he died of disease on February 9th, 1864.
