John G. Hall was an American Soldier during the American Civil War, 1861 to 1865.
He enlisted on September 26th, 1863, at New York City, New York, for three years service at the age of 35 as a Veteran Volunteer per general Orders No. 191, Adjutant Generals Office, War Department, Washington, D.C., dated June 25th, 1863, and was mustered into service as a Private in Company C of the 17th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment on October 6th, 1863, at Camp Sprague, Staten Island, New York.
He served with the regiment through its campaigns in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Taking ill he was sent to the De Camp General Hospital on David's Island, New York, where he died of disease on March 6th, 1865.
