Enoch A. Haase, retired blacksmith and cabinet maker, died at his home 17803 Filer St., Hamtramck, MI. He was 88 years old. A son of Ludwig Haase of Germany.

Enoch emigrated to Detroit from Germany in 1866, when he was 15 years old. He opened his own blacksmith shop when he was 19 at Eight Mile Rd. and Van Dyke, then known as Dalton's Corner. For an avocation he made violins and also played in several bands.

Enoch married (1) Mary Anne "Annie" Ryan of Warren, MI on June 6, 1871. They were married for 25 years, and had eight children. Annie passed away in her 40's in 1897.

Enoch married (2) Mary Jane McInerney Trainer Tomlin, a widow, on 28 Oct 1903. They were married for 23 years; until her death.

At the time of his death in 1939, he left a son, Charles J. Haase, of Portland, Oregon, a sister, Mrs. Adeline Reuter, of Detroit; nine grandchildren and four great-grand children. His first wife, Mary Anne "Annie" (Ryan) Haase, and second wife, Mary Jane McInerney Trainer Tomlin Haase, preceded him in death.

Enoch and Annie had 8 children:

2. Adelina "Addie" (b. Sept. 20, 1874)
3. Mary J. (b. May 12, 1878)
4. Charles John (TWIN to WILLIAM, b. Dec. 26, 1880)
5. WILLIAM Stephen (TWIN to Charles, b. Dec. 26, 1880)
6. Nellie (b. 1883)
7. Louis Ludwig (1885)
8. Isabella (1887) died in infancy.

William and Charles were TWINS. William passed away 17 years before his father.
