Kenneth L. Hill, Sr., 91, a former resident of Easton, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle.
Born in Holyoke, MA. on January 11, 1917, he was the son of Rollie and Madie (Jarrard) Hill. He attended school in Stillwater and Mechanicville and began working on farms in Easton in the 1930's.
On September 14, 1941, he married Marguerite Dixson, the daughter of Louis A. and Margaret (Mast) Dixson.
Kenneth was an Army veteran of WWII and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Following the war, he was a farmer, logger, construction worker, and a propane retailer. He also was a builder of unique custom dog houses.
He is survied by Marguerite, his wife of 66 years; 2 daughters, Linda Thomas and husband Richard of Stafford, Virginia, and Louise Foxwell and husband Peter of Skowhegan, Maine; 2 sons, Kennth Hill, Jr. and companion Susan Nolan of Easton, and Darrell Hill and wife Jennie of Easton; 11 grandchildren, Lauren Bass, Sharon Thomas, Steven Thomas, Robert Hill, Stacy Wallace, Stephanie Mattison, James Hill, Patricia Hill, Alexis Galagan, Dylan Galagan, Garreth Hill; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral: March 4, 2008 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main Street, Greenwich, New York with Pastor Mike Neigh officiating.
