Agnes (Wharton) Bartlett, 76, a former resident of the St. Lawrence, Hand Co., South Dakota community, died March 21, 1974. Christian Science services were held at Ojai, California, with burial in the Santa Paula cemetery.
She was born in Holden township, Hand County, SD February 20, 1898, the daughter of Albert & Effie (Burlingame) Wharton. She grew up on the farm and attended school in St. Lawrence and Redield, and taught school one year in Holden township.
In 1917, she was married to William Walter Bartlett, son of John F. & Susie (Kenyon) Bartlett of Burdette Township. They lived in South Dakota until the early 1940's, when they moved to California. For the past 13 years, they have lived at 1302 Loma Drive, Ojai.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Doris J. Caludy of Oxnard, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Dwight (Ora) Morrow of Sioux Falls, SD.
Her parents, one son, William, and a brother, Wayne Wharton preceded her in death.
