Son of Adam and Christina (Gassaway) Grambling. He married Rebecca Foster in 1811 and was admitted to the Methodist ministry in 1812, afterword residing in Pacolet SC. Sometime prior to 1850 he moved to Cherokee County GA. He is credited as the composer of the tune "Mission" in the 1835 publication of William Walker's "Southern Harmony."
