Carolyn (Houpt) Wray, 66, longtime resident of Bargersville, passed away Thursday at her residence.

She was born July 17, 1945, in Indianapolis, to Vane and Mary (Kegley) Houpt.

She married Max A. Wray on March 28, 1965, at First Christian Church in Bargersville. He survives.

Max and Carolyn worked together at Bargersville Hardware and Lumber for several years.

She was a 1963 graduate of Center Grove High School and a member of First Christian Church in Bargersville.

She enjoyed and loved being a seamstress, working with leather, crocheting and making doilies.

She educated herself on computers and the Internet and enjoyed using Facebook.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Max A. Wray of Bargersville; a daughter Melinda J. (Terry L. Wright) Thompson of Green­wood; a grandson, Kyle D. Thompson of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Kayla N. Thompson at Ball State University in Muncie; two brothers, Jim (Diane) Houpt of Greenwood and Dennis Houpt of Bargersville; a half sister, Donna McCammon of Indiana; nine nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved Dusty-dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two half sisters, Lois Dressler and Sue Haffey.

The Rev. Roger Gifford will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
