Funeral services for Henry Phillip Kloepfer, 86, Nampa, Route 3, who died at a Nampa hospital Saturday following an extended illness, will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kuna L.D.S. Church with Bishop Rolla T. McBride, officiating. Interment will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the Alsip Chapel from Monday noon until Thursday noon.

Mr. Kloepfer was born Oct. 25, 1880 at Logan, Utah, and was married to Clarrissa Alzina Brown on Dec. 7, 1905, at the Logan, Utah L.D.S. Temple. They resided at Logan until 1908, when they came to what is now known as the Happy Valley community near Nampa, and homesteaded there. Mrs. Kloepfer passed away on July 21, 1945.

He later married to Else Hoerger on January 19, 1948 in Germany, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on April 21, 1948. He was a pioneer farmer in the Happy Valley community, and farmed there for many years. Mr. Kloepfer served an L.D.S. Mission in Germany from 1901 to 1904. He was a very active member of the Kuna L.D.S. Church, and served as bishop of the church from 1925 until 1942. He was also a member of the Nampa Stake High Counsel for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Else Kloepfer of Route 3, Nampa; one son, Henry E. Kloepfer of Nampa Route 3; three daughters, Mrs. Lanvar (Alzina) Thornton of Kuna, Mrs. LeRoy (Naomi) Roberts of Nampa, and Mrs. Cecil (Leanida) Morgan of Kuna; one brother, Fred J. Kloepfer of Mesa, Ariz., two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Wall of Venice, Utah, and Mrs. John R. Gibbs of Ogden, Utah; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Rulon Henry Kloepfer and Lionel Brown Kloepfer.
