NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio óWilliam Howard Barnetson Jr., 63, of 1375 Township Road 335, Junction City, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born August 20, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Barnetson retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years service; retired Executive Director for the Licking County Metropolitan Housing Authority; member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Junction City, Ohio; member of the Humbolt F&AM #476 of Worthington; Substitute teacher for New Lexington & Perry County schools and Assistant Football Coach for New Lexington High School.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Thornton Barnetson of the home; son, William Gregory Barnetson of Americus, GA; daughter, Suzanne Kiggin of Columbus, OH; mother, Glenna Simpson Barnetson; three stepchildren, Margaret Slattery of Chula Vista, CA, Donald Slattery of Dawson, GA, and James Slattery of Savannah, GA; three grandsons, Bryce Sparling of Douglasville, GA, Caden Seely and Cole "Nate" Seely, both of Chula Vista, CA; sister, Sue Liston of Columbus, OH.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Barnetson.

Calling hours will be held from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Roberts Funeral Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington, OH and from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and at New Lexington High School on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2005, at the New Lexington High School, 2547 Panther Drive, New Lexington, Ohio with the Rev. John Kay officiating.

Military services will be conducted at New Lexington High School by the Marine Corps Detachment from Columbus.
