GEORGE L. CRAMER was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania on 29 July 1798. His ancestors are said to be among some of the first settlers in Pennsylvania.
His early manhood years were spent teaming for about eleven years between Lehigh and Philadelphia. He moved from Pennsylvania to Wayne County, Ohio, near Smithsville in 1835 and lived there for around two years.
He was married to Elizabeth Henry and in 1837 he moved to Richland County, Ohio, and purchased a farm in Worthington Twp. where he lived until his death. George and Elizabeth were the parents of eight known children as follows- Mary Ann Cramer Freehafer, Reuben Cramer, Elvina Cramer Teeter, Sarah Cramer, Malinda Cramer, Fianna Cramer and son Jonathan Cramer.
The 1960 Census lists George as "Living in Worthington Township, married to Elizabeth and farming, Post Office at North Liberty."
George was of German descent and lived 71 Years, 5 Months and 24 Days and died on 23 January of 1870, he is buried at the Dutch Hill Cemetery, east of Butler, quarter mile south of State Route 97, Section 22.
