Served on the Gunboat-Kickapoohe. Landsman really did not take part in the basic operation of the gunboat but rather served very similar to a detachment of Marines as they are sometime utilized today. If a shore party was needed they were sent armed very much like the infantry.
In the 1880 census, Amos is listed as a farmer in Ingham, Ingham, Michigan.
Amos's mother is Louis Hobart Crosman who died October 15, 1844-shortly after Amos's birth-buried unknown. She married Ebenezer in about 1835. Besides Amos there was two other children-Harriet born in 1839 and Jennie born in 1841.
