Samuel married Sarah Peacock in about 1845 in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, England

In 1852 the family immigrated to the US and settled in Jackson County, Michigan, where both their children were born.

After Samuel death, Sarah remarried in 1870 to William Brown.
