Charlie Alcott, 59, of 209 Chatham Ave., Pooler, died Friday at Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. The Emanuel County native was a resident of Pooler 27 years and an employee of Great Dane Trailers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pooler and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Turner Alcott of Pooler; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda A. Ray of Bloomingdale, Miss Patricia Jane Alcott of Pooler and Mrs. Marion Aikens of Statesboro; six brothers, William Alcott of Jacksonville, Fla., Virgil and Elmore Alcott, both of Swainsboro, and Earl, Daniel and Talmadge Alcott of Savannah; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Stover and Mrs. Ollie Ruth Brown, both of Herndon, and Mrs. Sybil Bennett of Savannah; and a grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Pooler, burial in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro. Terry C. Massey Funeral Home, Westside Chapel.
