Daughter of Clarence Brothers and Anna Dykstra Brothers, whose home was in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Grand-daughter of Leendert Meinte Dykstra and Grietje Theunis Norbruis. Sister of Marlo Brothers. Wife of Arthur G. Hewitt who preceded her in death in 1985. She attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota and Madison College in Madison, Tennessee. She was employed for 26 years by the American National Red Cross. After retiring she spent several years as a volunteer for the Red Cross in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a member of the Association of Red Cross Retirees, the Colorado Unit of the Red Cross, and the Colorado Mountain Club. She was a resident of the Medalion East Retirement Community on E. Bijou Street in Colorado Spings, Colorado.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 3, 2003 at the Medalion East Chapel, 1719 E. Bijou by Medalion Chaplain, Rev. Leonard Wecks.
