John N. Parker, 57, of Rushville, died Saturday, May 24, 2008.

Born Sept. 8, 1950 in Rushville, he was the son of Ralph and Violet (Love) Parker; both survive. He was married Deborah Readnour for several years. He married Theresa Spriggs Oct. 16, 2002; she survives.

Mr. Parker lived in Rush and Fayette counties his entire life. He worked at GeCom in Greensburg for four years and had worked at Ready Machine Tool & Die in Connersville for several years. He attended First Church of the Nazarene in Connersville and was a member of the Rolling ‘50s Car Club. A graduate of Rushville High School 1968 he was also a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed collecting many different things including coins and records and enjoyed restoring classic cars and attending car shows with his 1988 Corvette.

Survivors in addition to his wife include sons, Chris (Tonya) and Greg (Desirae), both of Connersville; daughter, Deanna (Mike) Miller of New Point; brother, Kevin of Rushville; sister, Linda (Robert) Anderson of Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kieley Parker.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Randy Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery and will include a graveside military service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

John his parents and Kevin lived across the street from our family in the early 1960's. I knew John although six years older than myself through association with his brother Kevin. Also remember his parents Ralph & Violet.
