Doris was born in Cleveland and grew up in a house that her grandfather, a mason, helped to build. She stayed in the greater Cleveland area for her life. She shared a close bond with her parents and sisters. Doris died of complications following a heart attack against which she fought bravely. The choice of interment suited her perfectly with her love of nature and the idea of a natural burial. She's survived by her husband of 61 years, three children, a sister, and a large extended family. Her sister, Gloria Jean Jedacek, died in 1972. Likewise, her sister-in-law, Bea Winter and husband Louis, nephew Ray, and niece Diane did not survive her. She was a cherished friend of "The Kids".
