Funeral services for Fred T. Chambless, 87, of Lake Charles, formerly of Sicily Island were held at 10 a.m., July 22, at Sicily Island Methodist Church, with Rev. A. G. Taylor officiating. Interment was in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
He was a retired depot agent with the Missouri-Pacific Railroad.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Mark D. Wentz Jr., and Mrs. Marguerite Gordon, both of Lake Charles; 2 sons, Louis Chambless, Simsbury, Conn., and Fred Chambless, Houston, Tex.; 1 brother, Zack Chambless, Tallulah; 1 sister, Mrs. Effie Connors, Leachville, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Marvin Nolan Jr., Richard Smith, Howard Smith, Michael Chambless, Mark D. Wentz, Ill, and Lt. Col. L. M. Jones III.
