Esther Joldersma, 84, Edgerton, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at Edgebrook Care Center, Edgerton.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 12 at First Presbyterian Church, Edgerton.
Esther Joldersma was born to Frank and Annie (Ten Cate) Roetman on Jan. 29, 1921 in Edgerton, where she was raised and attended public school. Following her graduation, she moved to Grand Rapids, Mich. to work as a telephone operator.
She married Melvin "Mike" Joldersma. They moved to Edgerton where they owned and operated the Spot Café for many years. She later worked at the lumberyard and DeBoer Motors, both in Edgerton.
In July 2005, Esther moved to the nursing home in Appleton. She was later transferred to the Edgebrook Care Center on Aug. 25.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Edgerton.
She is survived by her children, Mark Joldersma, Slayton and his fiancée, Diane Carstensen; Greg (Becky) Joldersma, Ft. Meyers, Fla.; Paula (Kyle) Chase, Appleton; Michael (Rhonda) Joldersma, Litchfield and Tami Joldersma, Edgerton; 11 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Gerry Roetman, Waukegan, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Roetman and one sister, Judy Pool.
