She was an active volunteer in the Republican Party, serving a term as county co-chairperson. During her years in the Templeton & Harvey family farm partnership, she also served in many volunteer roles supporting 4-H, County Extension work, and Farm Bureau work with her husband Dwight Harvey, who preceded her in death.
In Knoxville and in Eldora where she resided with her second husband Melvin Roetman, she pursued life with joy and vigor.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, PEO, D.A.R. and other interest groups. She had a quest for learning and enjoyed reading, quilting, the wonders of nature, mushrooming, hiking, and traveling.
Above all, she treasured her friends and family. She was a good friend to all.
