Mrs. Henry De Groot, died at her home in Orange City Tuesday, March 28, at 7 o'clock in the morning.
She was 61 years and 5 months of age and had been ill for about a year before her passing.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 o'clock in the First Reformed church, with Rev. Colenbrander in charge.
Jennie Roetman was born in the Netherlands. She came to the United States with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Gt. Roetman, in 1882, and the family settled in Sioux county during that year.
On March 20, 1890 she was married to Henry De Groot. Six children were born to the couple, all of whom survive their mother, namely, Henry, Middleburg; Mrs. J. Moret (Nellie), Boyden; Mrs. H. Hubers (Mary), Middleburg; Mrs. Henry Rowenhorst (Grace), Maurice; Mrs. Henry Reinders (Henrietta), Orange City; Gerrit, Milwaukee.
She is survived by her husband, also by her stepmother, Mrs. G. Roetman, a stepbrother, Rev. Roetman of Newkirk and a stepsister, Mrs. Gt. De Haan, Orange City.
The children were all at their mother's bedside during her illness. The family has the sympathy of the community in their time of sorrow.
