Benjamin A. Roetman, 80, of Orange City died Sunday, March 31, in a hospital in Orange City. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Donald R. Lenderink officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was after 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, with the family present from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home.
Mr. Roetman was born Nov. 28, 1904, near Leota, Minn, and attended Mankato Business College. He married Ellen Van Der Zwaag Feb. 17, 1932, at Middleburg. They farmed near Middleburg until 1945 when they moved to Orange City where he was a realtor. In May 1984 he became a resident of Happy Siesta Retirement Home in Remsen. Mrs. Roetman died Oct. 15,1984, at Orange City. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Don (Nelva) Schreur of Orange City; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Edith) Kraai of Orange City and Mrs. Fred (Margie) Kreykes of Sheldon; two grandsons and two great grandchildren.
