Steve Leroy Henry, Jr., 18, of East Hartford, died unexpectedly Sunday, (July 17, 2011) due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Steve was born on September 20, 1992 in Jamaica to Steve, Sr. and Donna Henry; he followed his family to the US at the age of 3. Steve was a graduate of East Hartford High School Class of 2010. Steve loved to play basketball and was a member of the Varsity Basketball team at East Hartford High as well as the AAU Travel Basketball Team. A good friend and caring person, he always made his parents proud and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents Steve, Sr. and Donna Henry of East Hartford; his five month old son, Malon Henry; his brother Shemar Henry; his sister, De'Dre'Ona Henry; his grandparents George Henry and Mildred Weller; and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, (July 29, 2011) at 10 a.m. at the Liberty Christian Center Int'l, 23 Vine St. Hartford, followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday, (July 28, 2011) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave. Windsor. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Malon Henry College Fund, C/O Windsor Federal Savings, 250 Broad St. Windsor, CT 06095.
