Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Belle (Wood) Holloway, 80, longtime resident of Wilson, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Wilson with Rev. Monte Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Gladys was born Oct. 12, 1928 in Courtney, Okla. to the late Mr. Coleman Otto and Mrs. Clara Caldonia "Callie" (Allen) Wood. She departed this life Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2009, in Oklahoma City.

Gladys was raised at Atlee attending school at Ringling. She married the late Mr. Robert "Junior" Holloway April 25, 1945 at Wilson where they made their home. Gladys was employed as a Nurse's Aide at the Rector Clinic, Adventist Hospital, and retired from the Memorial Hospital of Ardmore in 1994. She was a very devoted homemaker and housewife, loving mother and adoring

Granny Holloway to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family was always her purpose and she enjoyed the many and often occasions they shared together.

She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and quilting. Gladys was a longtime devoted member of the Rexroat Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Holloway Jr., Aug. 11, 2002; father, Coleman Wood, March 17, 1983; mother, Callie Boone, Dec. 22, 1982; brother, Clifford Wood; granddaughter, Shanda Way; great-granddaughter, Callie Fulton; and sons-in-law, Jim Hawkins and Danny Way.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sue Hawkins of Weatherford, Texas, Jean Farrell and husband Darrell of Wilson and Joann Way of Wilson; two sons, Bobby C. Holloway and wife Sandra of Townville, S.C. and Bill Holloway and wife Jacqueline of Lone Grove; brother, Ronnie Wood of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Robert Hawkins and wife Shenea, Shelley Long and husband Scot, Jimmy Hawkins and wife Trenna, Sheila Fulton and husband Carlen, Charlotte Keifer and husband Perry, Paula Durant and husband David, Keith Farrell and wife Melanie, Sheryl Hacker, Darin Farrell and wife Sarah, Lori Tynes, Danny Way and wife Buffy and Cynthia Hale and husband Cam; great-grandchildren, Tyler Keifer, Jeanna Hawkins, Caleb Fulton, Jessica Hawkins, Alexis Farrell, Blake Durant, Brandon Hale, Paige Way, Johnna Hacker, Melissa Hawkins, Bailey Durant, Cody Long, Austin Tynes, Jacob Farrell, Jaide Way, Holly Hacker, Samuel Farrell, Makayla Hale, John Farrell, Carson Fulton, Savannah Keifer, Jenna Farrell, Blane Way, Bobbie Scot Long, Caylen Fulton, Lauren Hacker and Cason Fulton; and numerous other family and friends.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Wilson. Condolences may be sent to the family online at
