WILSON -- Services for former Wilson resident Thelma Lois Goode, 85, Oklahoma City, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Alexander Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Cecil Stubbs officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery.
Miss. Goode was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Pittsburg, County, Okla., to John Thomas and Rosa Purdue Goode. She died Oct. 20, 1999, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
The youngest of 11 children, they moved southeast of Wilson from eastern Oklahoma when she was a very young child. She attended school at Cheek and Zaneis and played in the band her brothers formed in the 1930s. During World War II she went to California, to the Los Angeles area, where she was employed by the Tide Water Oil Co. Returning home to Oklahoma, she lived at the Healdton-Wilson Y until 1962 when she moved to Oklahoma City. She was employed by Presbyterian Hospital and Anna Maude Cafeteria until her retirement in 1983.
She is survived by three nephews, Ed Youell of Tuttle, Jerry Frank Goode of Plainview, and Bobby Ray Goode of California; five nieces, Emma Jean Johnson of Duncan, Donna Sue Rice of San Antonio, Texas, Delores Hines, June Winn and Jane Hester, all of Levelland, Texas; several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alton Beatrice Youell Kimbrell and Ruby O╣Day; and four brothers, Ray Goode, Emerson │Slim▓ Goode, Earl Goode and Frank Goode.
Nephews will serve as bearers.
