Napoleon Briggs, Jr. (also known as Snagg) was born August 18, 1930 in Shelby County, Memphis, Tennessee to the union of Napoleon Briggs, Sr. and Irene Briggs. He went home Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was one of six children. His brothers, Willie Briggs and Ernest Briggs; and his sister, Almeta Williams preceded him in death. He married Hollie Lee Thompson-Briggs on August 13, 1962, whose death also preceded his. He occasionally attended church and he gave his life to the Lord before his death.
During Napoleon's last illness and final days, he was attended to and cared for by his loving niece, Lucinda Jarrell and loving nephew and niece, Lawrence and Tina Johnson and other relatives and friends.
Napoleon attended the Foley-Belsaw Institute and became a master locksmith. He served in the United States Army from August 13, 1951 through May 13, 1953 and fought in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the army, Napoleon worked as a truck driver for over 30 years for the Friendship Brick Company.
Napoleon was no teetotaler and his hobbies were: gambling, shooting pool (he was a very good pool player) and visiting relatives and friends.
Napoleon was a loving uncle, who cared for his nephews and nieces, to whom he gave advice, teaching some of them how to drive and even assisted some of them with buying cars.
