Son of Peter Zilker born 1869 and Augusta, Von Beyersdor 1870 - 1909.

Lived in Mahanoy City, Pottsville, Allentown, Easton, Marshalls Creed, PA.

He worked in the Insurance Business. Independent Insurance agent at Henry McKeens & Sons in Easton, PA.

Fred was a free sprit when he was young. We heard many stories where he would pick up Alma in Allentown, drive to the shore spend the day and come back that night and go to work the next day. He was an avid hunter, going to the Haden ranch in Wyoming where he always came back with a trophie head. In fact, one time he shipped back two heads and they sat on the front proch on Sullivan trail for almost a year as Alma would not allow them in the house. Fred was very involved in the Easton community, he was asked to run as mayor, but refused. Not sure why, but probably he felt that it would impact his insurance business. He was well know in Easton PA and had the insurance on many of the major businesses within the City. The Easton P-Burg game was a big deal, as family would come for the game (it was a block walk from their home on High street to the Lafayette football field. So it was a day that started with refreshments, the game and then home for Thanksgiving dinner. Alma would leave the game from time to time to check the turkey. Alma and Fred love the cabin at White Heron Lake. They were expecting Judy while they were build the fireplace that is a major feature of the cabin. He would spend time fishing, using an electric motor when he got older. Both Alma and Fred are intered at Northampton Memorial Gardens in Easton PA. His sister Teddy and her husband are near by. A brother is also intered there as well.
