Chaplain to the Hudson's Bay Co. at Fort Victoria, 1855; Dean of Christ Church Anglican Cathedral (1865-1874). Left Anglicanism after a theological dispute and joined the Reformed Episcopal Church and became bishop in 1875. Built historic Church of Our Lord, "the Cridge Church," in Victoria.
