Robert E. Eccles, age 82, of Howesville, passed away at 3:50 P.M Tues., May 8, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born July 27, 1924, in Howesville, the son of Robert & Thelma (Drake) Eccles. He was retired from General Electric in Linton & was a farmer. He was a Navy veteran of WW II & was a life member of American Legion Post #22 & VFW Post #7118, both of Linton. He was a 1942 graduate of Coalmont High School. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. (Moss) Eccles of Howesville, three daughters, Cindy Rawley & her husband, Jay, of Jasonville, Cathy Mason & her husband, Mike, of Linton, & Christy Kennett & her husband, Kenny, of Jasonville, a son, Jeff Eccles & his wife, Ronda, of Jasonville, a step-son, James Dyer & his wife, Karen, of Jasonville, a brother, Dan Eccles of Linton, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, & twenty step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Larry Dyer, a brother, Larry Eccles, a sister, Florence Eccles, & his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Fri., May 11, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
