Pearl Francis Davis, daughter of James A. and Alice Davis, was born at Thayer in Oregon County Missouri. She was united in marriage to Otis L. Terrell of Eddyville, Lyon County, KY, June 4 , 1919. To this union, 2 children were born; Otis L., Jr, and Virginia E. Mrs Terrell professed her faith in Christ while a young girl, uniting with the Methodist Church. During her life, she gave a great deal of time to the service of her church, teaching Sunday School Class in the Children's Department and serving as Secretary of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also an active worker in civic affairs, was a member of the Fidelis Club and the order of Eastern Star. For several months, Mrs. Terrell had been in bad health and while it was not generally known, many of her friends were aware of her condition. On Sunday, April 28, she attended the services of her church. On Thursday, May 2, she was taken to the hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansasfor an operation from which she did not recover. Her passing on May 6, 1946 at 6:25 p.m. was a shock to all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Terrell leaves to mourn her passing her mother and father, Mr & Mrs James A. Davis of Thayer; her beloved husband, Otis L. Terrell; 1 daughter, Mrs Clyde Hall, Jr; her son, Otis L. Jr, all of Thayer; sisters Mrs. L.A. Wyatt of Thayer; Mrs H.A. Nelson, Tulsa, Okla; Mrs. E.A. Field, West Memphis, Ark; 1 brother, Herbert Davis of Memphis, Tenn, besides a large number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from Woodside Memorial Methodist Methodist church of Thayer, the pastor Rev. John L. Glassey in charge. Buriel was under direction of Leo Carr Funeral Home of Thayer with interment at Thayer Cemetery. (Oregon County History Net)
