Pembroke - Andrew D. Bacon, 54, died Saturday at his home in Pembroke after a heart attack. He was a native of Bryan County, a member of the St. John AME Church in Pembroke and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie E. Bacon of Pembroke; seven daughters, Mrs. Alice Clark and Mrs. Henrietta Williams, both of New York, N.Y., Mrs. Lula Sherman of Pine Mountain, Miss Lynn Bacon of Hinesville, and Misses Jane, Janet and Karah Bacon, all of Pembroke; four sons, David M. Bacon of New York, N.Y., Obie B. Bacon of Syracuse of Syracuse, N.Y., and Curtis H. and James F. Bacon, both of Pembroke; two brothers, Ervin Sheppard of Syracuse and Percy Bacon of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Williams and Mrs. Rebecca Smokes, both of Syracuse and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the St. John AME Church in Pembroke, with burial in the Salem Cemetery in Groveland. Harper's Funeral Home of Claxton is in charge.
