Appling - Otis Ray Hodges, 46, died Thursday at the Fort Gordon hospital after a short illness. The native of Bulloch County lived in Appling 13 years. He was a chief warrant officer when he retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years in the service. At the time of his death he was industrial relations manager of Pan-Am World Service. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie D. Hodges of Appling; a sister, Mrs. Rosa H. Owens of Savannah; and a brother, Ronald Hodges of Atlanta.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Tillman Mortuary in Statesboro, with burial in Harville Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
