Jackie N. Bartrug, Sr., 71, of Adena, Ohio died Thursday May 20, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
He was born February 4, 1933 in Hundred, W. Va.
Jackie was a Methodist by faith, a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, retired heavy equipment operator for Bedway Coal Co., and R & F Coal Co., A member of the Adena American Legion Post # 525.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Mildred (Oliver) Bartrug and a brother Arthur Bartrug.
Surviving are his wife Jean (Bednarik) Bartrug, two sons Jack Jr., and his wife Linda of Mt. Pleasant, Jerry and his wife Veronica of Adena, one daughter Janine Pugh and her husband Jeff of Adena, two brothers Gary and his wife Donna of Adena, Larry and his wife Mary Lou also of Adena, one sister Carolyn Berry and her husband Eugene of Flushing, four grandchildren Brandon Bartrug, Jessica and Jenna Pugh and Rhonda Myers, one great grandson Kory Woods.
Friends are welcome on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 111 S. Bridge Street, Adena where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004 with Reverend James McKenzie officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Adena American Legion, Post 525.
