OUR DADDY
He was our friend, our teacher, our playmate, our biggest supporter, our rock to lean on in times of need, but first and foremost, he was our Daddy - not our Dad - he was our Daddy. I was born a Daddy's girl - we bonded at first sight and that bond only became stronger as the years passed. We all had our type of special bond with him - each of us in our own way. He taught us to fish when we could barely walk and the love of fishing he taught us is still our passion. We learned too many things from him to ever begin to tell, but one thing we did learn was to love others with the same intensity with which he loved us. Our daddy was a true Christian, an avid LSU and Saints fan, who was never happier than when the Dallas Cowboys lost. He was a tease (always), a jokster and prankster, a lover of nature, a good and true friend to all he met. He was the kindest and gentlest man I ever knew - but first and last, he was our Daddy. We'll miss him but if we live our lives as he lived his, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we'll be with him again one day. He thought we were the most wonderful, perfect kids in the world and I can tell you that in reality we were far from it. But in his eyes we were perfect. He always told us how proud of us he was, he always encouraged us in every kind of way, and he never judged us or expected us to be anything but what and who we were. He was the most wonderful daddy in the world - full of life, love and integrity.
Foremost at this time, our thoughts and concerns are for our dear mother Evelie. She took such good care of Daddy - she never left his side. We all believe that we had him a lot longer because of her love and care. She was such a part of him that he is and always will be with us through her. Together they were the perfect pair - in love the way that we all want to be loved. But it didn't stop there - their love extended to everyone they knew and that is our most cherished gift - unconditional love.
Rest well Dear Daddy - our hero, our hearts.
