Friedrich was a member of an old Wurttemburg family. He was a German soldier during World War II. Friederich's parents are unknown at this time.

He was reported missing in Stalingrad, Russia on January 1, 1943. This date could possibly be the date he died.

Since Friedrich's remains were never identified, his name was memorialzed in this cemetery at Volgograd in Rossoschka. Granite cubes (dice) were engraved with the names of the dead and missing. The names were then arranged in alphabetical order. There are 103,234 soldiers listed on the cubes.

Friedrich's name is listed on the website of The Volksbund Deutche Kriegsgraberfursorge, a humanitarian organization devoted to collecting, preserving and maintaining the information and graves of the German war dead. Their website is:
