OSAGE CITY -- Gracie Rowe, 90, formerly of Scranton, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at an Overbrook nursing home.
Mrs. Rowe was a cook for Brookside Manor in Overbrook for many years.
She was born July 16, 1908, at Scranton, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Susan Harris McPhail.
She was reared in Scranton and attended Scranton schools. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and TOP Club, all at Scranton, and Fidelity Chapter No. 38 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Carbondale where she was past worthy matron.
She married Earl Rowe on Nov. 18, 1925, at Burlingame. He died July 8, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Earl E. Rowe, Overbrook, Dale Rowe, Scranton, and Duane Gale Rowe, Topeka; a sister, Eva Silver, Burlingame; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Scranton United Methodist Church.
Burial will be at the Scranton Cemetery.
Mrs. Rowe will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
