Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was killed in action at the battle at Spottsylvania Court House, Virgina on May 12, 1864. He had enlisted in Company C, 15th Regiment New Jersey Volunteers as a Sergeant, July 10, 1862 and was promoted to the rank of first sergeant March 1, 1864.

Co. "C", 15th N.J. Inf.
 
Note: Enlisted on 7/10/62. He was killed at Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. PROMOTION 1st Sgt. 3/1/64.
