"Beloved wife and mother, Marilyn Bishop Lay, 42, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 5, 1995, after a lingering illness.
Born May 18, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl F. Bishop and Norma Eva Sorensen. Married David E. Lay on August 8, 1980 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in various callings in the LDS Church, Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's organizations.
She was a very devoted wife and mother and made great sacrifices for her family. She was greatly loved and admired for her sweet, gentle, Christlike life.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Lay; four daughters, Ashley, 13; Melanie, 12; Bethany, 8; and Rachel, 2 years, 9 months; parents, Carl and Norma Bishop; sisters, JoAnn (Jerry) Clayton, Sandy; and Holly (Evan) Hanson, Midvale. Preceded in death by one sister, Carlene Bishop in 1976.
Many friends and family members mourn her passing.
Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South), Friday, July 7, 1995 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 1995, 11 a.m. at the Midvalley 6th Ward chapel, 7500 South 700 East. Friends may also call one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at the Murray City Cemetery."
