"Merrill Frie Gardner, age 76, passed away April 18, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born July 5, 1924 in Salt Lake City to John Henry Gardner and Bertha Pernellie Sandberg Gardner. Married Nola Shepherd June 2, 1950 in Salt Lake City. Member of the LDS Church and graduate of Steven's Henager Business College. Also a member of PHSA, DAV and VFW.
He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Well loved by his family and friends. Merrill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a survivor of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
He is survived by his wife, Nola; children: Aaron S. (Ginger), Leslie M. (Jannette), Cliff R. (Mary) Gardner and Linda G. Schultz (Greg) and 14 grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Saundra; brothers: Aaron S. Gardner and John S. Gardner and sister, Verena Sleath.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the Belview Ward, 6300 South 300 East in Murray, UT. Friends and family may call on Monday 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and on Tuesday 11:45-12:45 p.m. at the ward, prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park."
