William Clyde Behunin, 79, died peacefully on May 18, 1996. Born March 30, 1917 in Tobar, Nevada to Mary Jane Bromley and William Carlos Behunin.

Tobar was a construction camp building in 1908 by the Western Pacific Railroad. During construction a sign was put up that said "To Bar"... this became Tobar, the towns name. A post office opened up in 1911 and the town was booming but by the end of the 1920's only the station and the school, the store and the post office were left. By 1950 only the water tower and the depot and some odds and ends were left. Extensive foundations remain.

He married Rhoda Daphne Lewis Nov 22, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Graduate of BYU, taught school in Salt Lake for 30 years. Active member of LDS Church.

Survived by wife, Rhoda, six children, Sarah Jane (Bill) Richardson, Sharon Jean (Tyler) Lee, Wendell Clyde (Cindy) Behunin, Roland Lewis (Kristi) Behunin, John William Behunin, Edward Albert (Dee Ann) Behunin, 15 grandchildren, and one great-granchild; sister, LaRue Johnson and brother, Merlin Behunin.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 1996, 2 p.m. at the South Cottonwood Ward.
Interment Murray City Cemetery.
