Stevens Point Daily Journal, Stevens Point, Portage County, Wisconsin; March 27, 1933
Julia Ann, second child of the late Franklin and Adeline Rothermel, was born Aug. 29, 1849, in the Middleton, Orange county, New York, and came west with her parents at the age of eighteen months to Wautoma, Wis.
At the age of ten years she with her parents moved to a farm in the town of Plainfield where she spent her girl hood days.
On Oct. 8, 1871, she was united in marriage to Juliua S. Clark. They lived for three years with her parents and then settled on a farm in Adams county, where she lived the most of her life until death claimed her dear companion on March 28, 1921.
To this union five children were born, Anna (Mrs. Wm. Bristol), Hattie (Mrs. Will Zwetz), both deceased; Will, Nell, now Mrs. Seth Zwetz and Dennis, all of Plainfield, survive her.
Mrs. Clark was not only a faithful helpmate and loving mother but her efforts went out to help others whenever her strength would permit. Her loving smiles and ways will be missed by the host of friends she possessed outside the family circle.
Oct. 4, 1927, she was united in marriage to Henry Goult of Plainfield and on Feb. 2, 1928, death claimed this good man, leaving her once more alone.
She spent the remainder of her life with her three children, with the exception of a few weeks each summer at her old home on the farm she so dearly loved.
After many long weeks of suffering from the flu and complications she passed away at the home of her son Dennis, March 20, 1933.
Besides her three children she leaves to mourn thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, three brothers, Emmet, Frank and Robert, all of Plainfield, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the town hall, Thursday afternoon, with Rev. C. W. Emery officiating. Internment was made in the Plainfield...
