MInneapolis Messenger, Feb. 22, 1940, page 2:
MRS. ELMYRA BALDWIN
Mrs. Elmyra Baldwin, daughter of William B. and Sarah Jane Cunningham, was born May 23, 1867 near Albany, N.Y. and fell asleep in Jesus February 15, 1940 at the Asbury hospital in Salina, Kansas.

At an early age, with her parents she moved to Wisconsin where they lived a few years, then moved on to Coffey County, Kansas and settled near Burlington. Here at the tender age of seven her father was called to the Great Beyond. Her mother and her oldest brother William with the rest of the children migrated on to Ottawa County, Kansas, and settled on a farm north of Ada. This remained her home until August 9, 1884 when she became the wife of George E. Baldwin. The rest of her life was spent in and around Ottawa County, with the exception of four years when the family resided at Eureka, California.

She was converted and joined the Ada Methodist church during a revival conducted by Rev. Campbell and had been a faithful energetic and sincere Christian worker ever since.
Since her husband's death December 22, 1928 she had done much practical nursing, ever trying to relieve the suffering and soothing the pathway of life.

She leaves to mourn her loss: One son, Charles E. Baldwin, Ada; two daughters: Georgia Baldwin, Glen Elder and Leona King, Linn; one foster daughter-niece Viola Woolridge, of Council Bluffs; four grandchildren; two foster grandchildren and three sisters. Mrs. Daisy Mercer, Salina, Kans., Mrs. Jane Rutherford, Fay, Okla., and Mrs. Margaret Edmands, Minneapolis, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the Ada Methodist church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. Gruver. Burial was in the Ada cemetery.
