Tootsie, or Tootie as I called her was my first furbaby. I got her when I was a junior in high school. I had begged my parents for a cat since I was a little girl, and finally they relented. I received Tootsie in January of 1987 and she was a bundle of jet black fur. Tootsie was a polydactial cat, having six toes on all four of her paws. She had the LARGEST paws I have ever seen on a cat, and the longest whiskers too. Tootsie was solid black with a quarter size spot of white on her belly.

Tootie lived with my parents and I until I moved into my first apartment. Of course she came with me. While in my apt. Toots was rather..... adventurous, having gotten herself stuck in a pipe behind the stove, it took my room mate and I forever to get her out. This was't the first time Tootsie has gone and got herself stuck somewhere. When we were living with my parents she took it upon herself to get behind the washer and actually got stuck INSIDE the wall! Took me hours to coax her out using toys, food and treats, but finally I got her out. We ended up having to patch the wall to prevent her from doing that again.

On another one of Tootsie's adventures she escaped from my car while we were waiting for a tow truck. Thankfully I had seen where she had gone. She ran into someone's garage. I didn't want to trespass so I had to hunt downt he owner of the house to get permission to hunt down my damn cat. I got permission and after what seemed like hours, found her cowering under a car in the garage.

When I moved back home Tootsie moved back with me. By this time she had become very attatched to my dad. In 1992 I once again moved into another apt taking Tootie with me again. Sadly I ended up moving again in September of 1993 and I wasn't allowed to have pets in my new place. I wasn't sure what to do with Tootsie. I didn't want to give her up but I had no choice. Thankfully my sister in law had some barn cats in the country. So I called and asked her if I could bring Tootsie up their to live in the barn. She said yes and I brought Tootsie up to the barn. I cried me a river of tears and hoped someday I'd be able to reclaim my furbaby. Sadly that didn't happen. In January of 1994 I moved from NY to FL and again wasn't allowed to have pets so I had to leave her behind once again. By this time my sister in law hadn't seen Tootsie in a very long time. I have no clue what happend to her or when she died. All I know it that it tore me in two to have to leave her behind. After loosing her, I vowed never again would I be forced to make that decision to get rid of my cat and I haven't. If the cat can't go, I don't go!

Tootsie rest assured that I love and miss you always. I know you are at the rainbow bridge waiting for me. I can't wait til the day you are in my arms again. I will love and miss you ALWAYS!
