Bright young man who was well known and respected in Arcadia. He went to Tulane University in New Orleans and studied dental medicine. Shortly before graduating as a dentist, he traveled to Arcadia in North Louisana to visit family and friends. He hitched a ride on a log truck, nothing new to him since his father was a logging contractor there. However, the the straps broke sending him and the logs crashing to the ground, killing him instanty. His father, William Hayes McGuire, witnessed the accident which happened in downtown Arcadia.
LOCATION OF CEMETERY: From south end of Arcadia, turn left on Co. Rd 147. Sign about 2 miles on left. Park and walk in about 1/8 mile on dirt road. 32.5187ºN, 92.8878ºW
