Louise Phillips Moshinskie, age 79, died on Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at her home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she had lived with her husband, Francis, since 1963. She was born on May 4, 1918 in Simsboro to Floyd and Annie Belle (McGuire) Phillips. She was proudly the great-great-granddaughter of James Monroe Sims, the namesake of Simsboro, Louisiana, the city of her birth.

She married Francis John (Frank) Moshinskie in 1944. They worked together creating Tiny Town, a unique handmade animated miniature display that has been a popular tourist attraction in Hot Springs, Arkansas, since 1963.

She was a kindergarten teacher for 21 years at the Second Baptist Church School of Hot Springs where she was lovingly known as "Miss Louise."

She is survived by her husband, Frank, (who died a year later in 1999); two sons, Dr. Jim (Mo) Moshinskie of Waco, Texas, [email protected] and Charles Moshinskie and wife, Barbara of Hot Springs, and a granddaughter, Laura Moshinskie (who married Robert Smith in 2005 in Hot Springs, Arkansas). Blain Owens and the caring staff of Owens Funeral Home in Ruston handled her burial at Simsboro Cemetery.

She was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her husband and two sons. She loved her native Simsboro, and visited there often. She especially liked to keep up with her Sims and Phillips relatives. She is buried next to her parents who were killed in a car wreck in 1959 after leaving the Moshinskie.
