Fredricka Ann Teske, daughter of Fredrick and Elizabeth Teske, was born on December 17, 1874, on a farm one mile north of Winkler, which was homesteaded by her father. She received her education at the Winkler school. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, having been confirmed at a early age, and remained a faithful member.

On July 27, 1893, she was united in marriage to Gustaf Hagenmaier. Their married life was spent out on the homestead with the exception of one year when they lived on a farm in Washington county. In 1927 they moved to Randolph, and in October of 1957, they chose to make their home in Waterville.

This couple was blessed with seven children. Fred of New Port Richey, Florida; Agnes Skow and Amelia Oyer, of Kansas City; Ernest Hagenmaier and Margaret Viering of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Inez Hanson, of Omaha; and LeRoy of the home place at Winkler. Fourteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren also remain to have fond memories of Grandmother.

A long and useful life came to an end early on Thursday morning April 27, 1961. She had reached age of 86 years, 4 months, and 10 days.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Marks Lutheran Church with Pastor James T. Grant officiating. Music was by vocalist Edward Nord who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord My Shepard Is" accompanied by Miss Sophia Musil at the organ.

Casket bearers were Arthur Kulp, Wesley Dettmer, Donald Winkler, Hugo Kunze, Carl Hanson, and William Gordon. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas with arrangements by Youngbergs.
