On July 27, 1893 he was married to Fredericka Teske. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are living.
With the exception of one year, the family resided on the farm homesteaded by Mrs. Hagenmaier's father, one mile north of Winkler, until 1926 when they retired and moved to Randolph. In October 1957 they moved to Waterville. Here Mrs. Hagenmaier passed away in April of 1961. This couple were privileged to celebrate 68 years of married life.
Mr. Hagenmaier passed away at Wharton Manor in Manhattan, Kansas, on February 4, 1962. He had reached the age of 92 years, 3 months and 29 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure, seven children, Fred and wife of New Port Richey, Florida; Ernest and wife, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Margaret Viering and husband of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Agnes Skow and Amelia Oyer, of Kansas City, MO; Inez Hanson and husband of Omaha, Nebraska; and LeRoy and wife of the home place. Two brothers and two sisters, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Courser Funeral Home in Manhattan on Wednesday, February 7th. Burial was in the Sunset Cemetery, in Manhattan.
