About 1 1/2 miles east of Huntsville, Walker Co., TX on what was called the "Phelps Rd." North side of the road (Highway 190 East) on top of a high cut bank for the highway, across the barbed wire fence 25 feet in the pines is the grave, probably of a small child as the sand stone marker is marked only "BOY." The property was the site of a number of old log houses once and a narrow curbed dug well is east of the grave by about eighty yards. "The owner of the property had years ago relocated in New York and held the tract only because it had been her old family home place." (according to a 1949 story about the property) The grave could date from the Depression era, or much earlier. It is likely other unmarked graves may be around it.
