Elihu Harlan Cox was born in Indiana. He married Rhoda Alice Clark July 29, 1864 in Marion, Grant Co, Indiana. Elihu enlisted in the Union in Grant Co, Indiana and served in Co. C 12 Ind. Inf. as a Sargeant. He was debilitated with heat stroke on a march and received a disability pension. He was a farmer but had a hard time physically because of the results of the heat stroke received in the service to his country.
After the death of Rhoda in 1898, Elihu remarried to Almira HAYS LITTLE, the widow of Walter Raleigh LITTLE, MD, of Mound, Payne Co, Oklahoma on June 19, 1900. She filed for and received a Widow's pension off of his pension.
He is buried by his first wife Rhoda Alice Clark Cox.
